Kevin Perron
Kevin Perron is the founding attorney of Northern Legal PLLC, where he advises businesses, entrepreneurs, and investors on mergers and acquisitions, strategic transactions, equity and debt financings, and other commercial transactions and corporate matters.
Before starting Northern, Kevin was a partner in the M&A and corporate group at Kirkland & Ellis LLP, where he represented public and private companies, private equity sponsors, and venture capital funds.
Prior to Kirkland, he practiced at Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom LLP and Simpson Thacher & Bartlett LLP. He also served as a law clerk to Judge Thomas L. Ambro on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit, where he focused on restructuring matters.
Kevin graduated from Columbia Law School in 2020, as a James Kent Scholar, and Bowdoin College in 2016, where he spent time on the hockey and golf teams.
Kevin lives in Boston with his wife, Meredith, and his son, Kian. He grew up in Saratoga Springs, New York, as part of his family’s construction business.

Principles
Execution
Deals made to close
We balance strategic judgment with the blocking-and-tackling required to close deals effectively. We make key decision points clear, make recommendations, and execute on your direction. Our job is to achieve your goals on your terms and timeline, not to force a transaction into a playbook simply because it’s familiar.
Attention
Quick responses, plain English
We are committed to a white-glove experience. It should be easy to understand the decisions you are making, and you shouldn’t be drawn into details that don’t require you. Your matter may be challenging, but working with us should be painless. You should even enjoy it.
Speed
Speed is substance
We approach every engagement with speed in mind. Moving quickly reduces execution risk, lowers costs, and keeps attention on the issues that matter. To us, speed is not just a “nice to have,” it’s a substantive part of doing the deal right.
Practice Areas
Mergers & Acquisitions and Strategic Transactions
We represent buyers and sellers in acquisitions and sales of businesses and assets. We handle each stage of a transaction, from the letter of intent through diligence, negotiation of definitive documentation, and closing. We view our role as your transaction’s quarterback.
We also advise on joint ventures, strategic minority investments, and partnerships.
Equity and Debt Financings
We represent companies and investors in equity financings, from pre-seed through growth-stage, including via stock issuances, SAFEs, and convertible notes. We also represent borrowers and lenders in debt transactions, from term sheet through closing.
Commercial Transactions and General Corporate
We negotiate key commercial agreements that drive revenue and operations, such as customer and vendor contracts, services and licensing agreements, and other third-party and partner arrangements.
We also advise on entity formation, reorganizations, governance, board and stockholder matters, equity incentive plans, and ongoing corporate maintenance.
Kevin is Northern Legal’s sole attorney and works directly with clients on every matter, bringing in trusted specialists as needed.

Pricing
“Big Law” experience and service, delivered at roughly 1/3 the price
The lawyer on your matter brings the same judgment, speed, and service you would be paying for at a top national firm, at about one-third of the rate. And we recognize that AI is transforming the practice of law and use it deliberately in every engagement: always for speed, cost and leverage, never in place of judgment.
Pricing Models
Hourly
A fraction of Big Law rates
For hourly engagements, we bill at a fraction of Big Law rates. We budget up front and flag changes as they arise. We don’t spend money on issues that don’t move the needle.
Fixed Fee
The price agreed at the start
For matters with fixed fees, we agree on the price at the outset. These are best for well-defined scopes, and often work well for a first engagement, where you can see how we work.
Monthly Retainer
Outside general counsel for a flat monthly fee
For monthly retainer arrangements, we serve as your outside general counsel for a flat monthly fee. Day-to-day questions are included, big and small.
